VialSeq
Short answers to the questions that come up most. Nothing here is new: it is gathered from the other pages and from the tool itself.
No. It is an unofficial support tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or validated by Agilent. Review every file it generates before importing, printing, or relying on it — nothing here is checked or approved by Agilent.
No. VialSeq has no server, no account, no cookies and no analytics. Everything you enter stays in your own browser's local storage on this device and is never transmitted anywhere. See the Privacy page for the full list of what is stored.
It is built for Agilent OpenLab CDS 2.8, and the CSV it produces uses the column names of that version's sequence table. It has not been checked against other OpenLab versions or other chromatography data systems.
OpenLab compares column headers literally. The file can include fewer
columns than the table (the missing ones keep OpenLab's default
value), but never more. Check the columns ticked under
Included columns in the tool, and tell us if one of them
is rejected — see the last question.
The readable .xls is an HTML table saved with an
.xls extension, a trick Excel understands but whose
extension doesn't match the content, so Excel asks for confirmation.
Choosing Yes opens it normally. It is a convenience for reading and
archiving; the file to import into OpenLab is the CSV.
Yes, once you have opened it online at least once: the browser keeps a copy and the tool shows a note when you are offline. When a new version is available it offers a reload button instead of reloading by itself.
Use New sequence inside the tool to clear batches,
catalogue and sequence while keeping saved profiles and layouts, or
clear this site's data from your browser's settings to remove
everything. To move your saved profiles, tray layouts and
batch-pattern templates to another browser or computer, use
Export library in the Profiles menu.

tool shows an error, its Download diagnostic file button
saves a JSON file to your own computer only; you can attach it to your
